The Los Angeles Lakers welcomed back their star player, LeBron James, after a lengthy absence due to injury. However, his return was overshadowed by an explosive performance from Chicago Bulls guard Coby White.
White went absolutely bonkers, torching the Lakers for a career-high 35 points, including 7 three-pointers, to lead the Bulls to a resounding 146-115 blowout victory.
The Bulls’ offense was clicking on all cylinders, with six players scoring in double figures. White’s scintillating display was the highlight of the night, as he repeatedly burned the Lakers’ defense with his quick release and deep range.
“I just got in a zone and my teammates kept finding me,” White said post-game. “We played a great team game tonight.”
LeBron James, who returned from a groin injury, finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, but it was clear that the Lakers were no match for the Bulls’ firepower.
The loss drops the Lakers to 5th place in the Western Conference standings, while the Bulls improve to 3rd place in the Eastern Conference.
