Kentucky Wildcats coach Mark Pope has finally addressed the controversy surrounding Brandon Garrison’s cryptic TikTok post, which sparked rumors of the sophomore big man’s potential departure from the program.
Pope revealed that he had spoken to Garrison about the post and clarified that it was simply an emotional response to the team’s Senior Night celebration.
“I talked to Brandon about it, and he just got caught up in the emotion of the moment,” Pope explained. “He’s a young guy, and he’s still learning to navigate the spotlight. He didn’t mean to cause any controversy.”
Pope reassured fans that Garrison is committed to the program and has no intention of leaving Lexington.
“Brandon is a valuable member of our team, and we’re excited to have him back next season,” Pope said. “He’s got a bright future ahead of him, and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue to grow and develop as a player.”
The controversy surrounding Garrison’s post had sparked widespread speculation among Kentucky fans, with many fearing that the talented big man might be considering a transfer.
However, Pope’s clarification has put those rumors to rest, and fans can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Garrison will be back in a Wildcats uniform next season.
