According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cleveland Browns General Manager Andrew Berry is adamant about not trading superstar defensive end Myles Garrett. Schefter appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, stating that Berry believes it would take an incredible offer from another team to convince him to change his mind.
Garrett recently requested a trade, citing his desire not to be part of another rebuild. The Browns are facing a potential rebuilding phase, largely due to the Deshaun Watson situation. Trading Garrett could help streamline the rebuild, but Berry seems unwilling to grant Garrett’s wish.
Garrett has two years left on his contract, with a $20 million cap hit each year. At 29 years old, coming off his seventh consecutive double-digit sack season, he would command a significant haul in a trade. Fellow star defender Denzel Ward has hinted that he might follow Garrett out of Cleveland if he is traded, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the franchise.
