Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has made it clear that he’s not interested in making any drastic changes to his team ahead of the trade deadline.
In an interview with 97.1 The Ticket on Tuesday, Campbell emphasized the importance of preserving the team’s chemistry, saying, “We’re not going to mess with the vibe of this team.”
Campbell also stressed that any potential trade would need to be a good fit for the team, both in terms of talent and locker room dynamics. “First of all, the value’s got to be right,” he said. “It’s got to be something that we feel like can help us, fits us.”
The Lions are currently 5-2 and on pace for their most successful season in years. Campbell is keen to maintain the team’s momentum and avoid disrupting the chemistry that has contributed to their success.
While general manager Brad Holmes is reportedly exploring potential trade options, Campbell hasn’t had many serious discussions about a trade yet. “I know he’s going through a lot of things and when it becomes serious, he’ll bring it to me,” Campbell said.
The Lions will host the Raiders next Monday night, the day before the league’s trading deadline.
