T.J. Watt’s response to missing out on the Defensive Player of the Year award was quite subtle. He posted a cryptic message on social media, saying “Nothing I’m not used to”. This suggests that he’s not surprised by the snub, but it’s clear he’s still taking it personally.
In fact, Watt skipped the NFL Honors show, where the award was presented to Myles Garrett instead. Garrett even went on to say that Watt should apologize to him for his reaction to the snub.
It’s worth noting that Watt had a strong case for the award, with 11.5 sacks and solid pressure numbers. However, his productivity took a hit towards the end of the season due to ankle and thumb injuries.
