Kentucky men’s basketball received a commitment from a transfer portal prospect on Thursday, the program confirmed. The addition addresses a roster need for head coach Mark Pope ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The player entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this week and committed to Kentucky following contact with the coaching staff. He is expected to enroll for the summer term and will be eligible for the upcoming season.
The commitment moves Kentucky to 12 scholarship players for 2025-26, with one roster spot remaining. Pope has utilized the transfer portal for multiple additions since taking over the program in April 2024.
The university will release the player’s name, previous school, and eligibility details once admissions and compliance paperwork is finalized. Kentucky is also recruiting several 2026 high school prospects ranked in the top five nationally, with decisions expected later this year.
