Travis Perry has entered the transfer portal again. The former Kentucky Mr. Basketball submitted his name yesterday, April 9, 2026, after spending just one season at Ole Miss following his freshman year at Kentucky.
Perry is a 6-foot-1 guard from Lyon County, Kentucky. He is the stateβs all-time leading high school scorer with 5,481 career points and holds Kentucky records for field goals made with 1,918, free throws made with 933, made three-pointers with 712, and steals with 650. He was named Kentucky Mr. Basketball, Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year, and Sweet 16 Most Valuable Player after leading Lyon County to its first state title as a senior.
Perry played his freshman season at Kentucky in 2024-25. He appeared in 31 games with four starts for Mark Pope, averaging 2.7 points in 9.8 minutes per game while shooting 31.3% from the floor and 32.1% from three. He scored a season-high 12 points and had four steals at Alabama on Feb. 22, 2025, and added 11 points against Alabama in the SEC Tournament.
He entered the portal on April 22, 2025, hours before the deadline, and committed to Ole Miss on May 4, 2025. Chris Beard recruited Perry heavily out of high school. At Ole Miss, Perry played the 2025-26 season and was part of Beardβs portal class alongside AJ Storr, Corey Chest, and Koren Johnson.
Mark Pope said he was βdevastatedβ when Perry left Kentucky the first time. βI think he was on his way to becoming a legend here at Kentucky,β Pope said. βI enjoyed coaching him so much, and I think he has a brilliant upsideβ.
Perry will have three years of eligibility remaining. The transfer portal window for the 2026-27 cycle closes May 6, 2026. His next destination has not been announced.
