Mark Pope and Kentucky are already planning well into the future on the recruiting trail. On Monday morning, five-star point guard Nasir Anderson announced on social media that he has received a scholarship offer from the Wildcats.
Anderson, a 6-foot-4 playmaker from Georgia, is ranked the No. 8 overall player in the 2027 class and the top point guard in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite. He becomes the fourth member of that class with a UK offer, joining Marcus Spears Jr., CJ Rosser, and Obinna Ekezie Jr. Kentucky has also offered Baba Oladotun, though he recently reclassified into the 2026 class.
This season, Anderson will play his junior year at Prolific Prep, one of the premier high school programs in the country. The program, previously based in California, has relocated to Florida. Anderson will team up there with Caleb Holt, a top 2026 recruit who visited Kentucky earlier this month.
Kentucky coaches, including assistant Mikhail McLean, have been heavily involved in pursuing both Anderson and Holt. McLean, who signed a new contract with UK this offseason and is seen as a rising coaching star, is leading the Wildcats’ push for Anderson.
Anderson’s résumé already includes standout international and elite camp performances. Over the summer, he starred at the FIBA Under-16 AmeriCup in Mexico, helping Team USA capture the gold medal. Averaging 12.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 steals per game, he was named the tournament MVP. He also stood out at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in South Carolina, an evaluation hotspot where Kentucky staff were courtside.
In addition to Kentucky, Anderson holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, North Carolina, and more. Missouri, notably, is currently leading the SEC in recruiting momentum for the 2026 class.
With his size, court vision, and two-way ability, Anderson is already cementing his status as one of the most complete guards in high school basketball — and now he’s firmly on Kentucky’s radar.
