Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox is facing serious allegations after a woman filed a temporary protective order in Fayette County this week, according to a report from The Courier Journal.
Details of the Allegation
The incident allegedly occurred on August 20 in Lexington. The woman claims Wilcox entered her bedroom uninvited while she was sleeping and attempted to “forcibly” separate her legs. She said he was initially visiting her roommate but got into the wrong room.
According to the filing, Wilcox continued touching her after being told to stop and refused to leave her bed. The woman then called police. Reports state Wilcox stayed in the apartment for at least 20 minutes before leaving.
A hearing was held this past Wednesday in Lexington, and a follow-up hearing is scheduled for November 3.
Team Status
Wilcox has not been charged with a crime at this time. However, he was absent from the Wildcats’ season-opening win over Toledo. Head coach Mark Stoops said Wilcox was unavailable due to a “violation of team rules” and confirmed earlier this week that his status remains unchanged ahead of Kentucky’s SEC opener against No. 20 Ole Miss.
Other Legal Matters
This isn’t the only issue Wilcox is dealing with:
In April, he was pulled over for speeding after allegedly racing another vehicle in a 55-mph zone. His arraignment for that case is set for January 5.
Earlier this week, Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control cited him for failing to provide proof of rabies vaccinations and city licenses for two dogs. He has a court date scheduled for September 18.
On-Field Background
Wilcox, a redshirt sophomore from Douglasville, Georgia, started four games last season and led Kentucky with 590 rushing yards on 92 carries.
In his absence during Week 1, transfers Dante Dowdell (Nebraska) and Seth McGowan (New Mexico State) stepped up. Dowdell posted 129 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while McGowan added 78 yards and a score on 18 attempts.
