Former University of Kentucky basketball standout Ramel “Smooth” Bradley was arrested over the weekend in Lexington following a series of troubling incidents at an apartment complex.
According to a police report, the incident occurred at an East 7th Street apartment complex where Bradley was allegedly trespassing. Events escalated when he became involved in a physical altercation with an on-site security guard.
Further investigation revealed Bradley was operating a moped without a valid driver’s license. During the arrest, officers also discovered marijuana rolled into a blunt in his possession.
As a result, Bradley faces multiple charges including trespassing, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
Bradley, affectionately known by fans as “Smooth,” played for the Wildcats from 2004 to 2008. Over his collegiate career, he appeared in nearly 130 games and became known for his grit, leadership, and reliability on the court. He was a key figure during his time in Lexington and remains a beloved figure among Big Blue Nation.
News of his arrest has drawn widespread attention, especially given his deep ties to the Kentucky basketball community. As of now, Bradley has not issued a public statement regarding the incident.
