The Wildcats are now part of Thompson’s top group, alongside North Carolina, Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Texas, and Ohio State. Thompson, a 6-foot-7 and 185-pound small forward from Hudson, Ohio, is considered a top-10 prospect in the class of 2026 by the 247 Sports Composite rankings. Mark Pope, the head coach of the Wildcats, recently visited Thompson in April, followed by an unofficial visit from the forward to Lexington in January.
