Mark Pope’s Kentucky Wildcats have made another splash in the transfer portal, adding to their roster for the 2025-26 season. With several key players departing due to eligibility or transfers, Pope has been active in rebuilding the team.
Andrija Jelavic Commits to Kentucky
The Wildcats have committed 6-foot-11 power forward Andrija Jelavic, one of the top European prospects in his class. Jelavic averaged 10.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 53 games for Belgrade, Serbia-based Mega Superbet. His 7-foot-2 wingspan, quickness, and versatility should make him a difficult matchup for opponents.
Jelavic Fits Perfectly in Kentucky’s Frontcourt
Jelavic’s addition gives Kentucky a significant boost in size and length underneath. He’ll join other newcomers Arizona State forward Jayden Quaintance, Alabama forward Mouhamed Dioubate, Pitt guard Jaland Lowe, and Tulane guard Kam Williams. Two top high school prospects from Kentucky, guard Jasper Johnson and center Malachi Moreno, will also join the team.
Kentucky’s Roster Takes Shape
Despite guard Acaden Lewis decommitting, Kentucky currently has the fourth-ranked incoming class, per 247Sports. The Wildcats trail only Houston, Duke, and UConn, with the potential to add more talent before the season starts. Pope’s early success in recruiting has alleviated concerns about his ability to attract top players to Kentucky.
Looking Ahead to the 2025-26 Season
With a potentially star-studded roster, Kentucky looks like one of the top teams in the country heading into the 2025-26 season. The Wildcats are also in the mix for Nate Ament, the top remaining uncommitted high school senior and projected top-five pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
