Mikaela Shiffrin is widely regarded as one of the greatest skiers of all time, with a slew of World Cup titles and Olympic medals to her name. But despite her many successes on the slopes, there’s one thing that Shiffrin just can’t live without – and it’s not her skis, nor her boyfriend, Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
So, what is this mysterious thing that Shiffrin can’t get enough of? The answer might surprise you: it’s her beloved dog, Abby!
In a recent interview, Shiffrin revealed that Abby, her adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is her constant companion and confidante. “Abby is more than just a pet – she’s my best friend and my biggest supporter,” Shiffrin gushed.
Shiffrin’s love for Abby is evident on her social media accounts, where she frequently posts adorable photos and videos of her furry sidekick. And it’s clear that Abby is just as fond of Shiffrin, often accompanying her on hikes, bike rides, and even to the occasional ski competition.
But Shiffrin’s dependence on Abby goes beyond just companionship. The skier credits her dog with helping her to relax and unwind after a long day on the slopes. “Abby has this amazing ability to sense when I’m stressed or anxious,” Shiffrin explained. “She’ll snuggle up next to me and just calm me down. It’s the best feeling in the world!”
With Abby by her side, Shiffrin feels like she can conquer anything – including the toughest ski slopes in the world. And as she looks to the future, Shiffrin knows that she can count on Abby to be there every step of the way.
“Abby is more than just a pet – she’s my rock, my confidante, and my best friend,” Shiffrin said. “I don’t know what I’d do without her!”
