As the Los Angeles Lakers continue their push for the playoffs, two players who have been making significant contributions to the team’s success are Austin Reaves and Jordan Goodwin.
Reaves, who has been one of the Lakers’ most consistent scorers this season, recently praised Goodwin’s play, saying that he deserves a standard NBA contract.
“Jordan’s been great for us,” Reaves said in a post-game interview. “He’s a guy who can affect the game without having the ball in his hands, which is huge for us. He’s a defensive stopper, he’s athletic, and he’s got a high motor.”
Goodwin, who is currently on a two-way contract with the Lakers, has been starting and playing significant minutes for the team in recent games. He recently finished a game with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block, and three three-pointers in 33 minutes against the San Antonio Spurs.
Reaves, meanwhile, has been shining with his scoring prowess, including a 30-point outing against the Spurs.
The Lakers’ front office will need to make a decision on Goodwin’s contract status soon, as two-way players are not eligible to play in the postseason. With the playoffs looming, the Lakers will rely on Reaves and Goodwin to continue their strong play.
“Austin and Jordan have been huge for us this season,” said Lakers coach Darvin Ham. “They’re both playing with a high level of confidence, and they’re making big plays for us on both ends of the floor.”
As the Lakers continue their push for the playoffs, they’ll need Reaves and Goodwin to keep playing at a high level. With Goodwin’s contract status uncertain, the Lakers will need to make a decision soon on whether to offer him a standard NBA contract.
One thing is certain, however: Reaves and Goodwin are both crucial to the Lakers’ success, and they’ll need to keep playing well if the team wants to make a deep run in the playoffs.
