Former Miami Dolphins receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reacted on social media to his alleged involvement in a sexual assault case that involves Sean “Diddy” Combs.
According to the lawsuit, the accuser Ashley Parham alleges that Beckham was a part of a gang rape inside an Orinda, Calif. house in March 2018.
Beckham took to social media to respond to comedian Druski, who was also named in the suit. Beckham said that he is “covered by God” and “that name will be cleared.”
Last season, Beckham appeared in nine games for the Dolphins, but he eventually was released by the franchise. During his stint with Miami, Beckham was targeted 18 times and made nine catches for 55 yards. He did not score a touchdown with the Dolphins.
Injuries have slowed the former Offensive Rookie of the Year’s career, as he missed the entire 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL in the Super Bowl while with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 season.
Beckham was extremely important for the Rams in the Super Bowl that season, as he caught two passes for 52 yards and a score against the Cincinnati Bengals.
After sitting out in 2022, Beckham returned to the field in the 2023 season, but he was unable to put up the gaudy numbers that he did earlier in his career with the New York Giants.
In the 2023 season for the Baltimore Ravens, Beckham appeared in 14 regular season games and made six starts. He was targeted 64 times, making 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
Beckham currently isn’t on an NFL team, and he may have a hard time landing with one with these allegations currently surrounding him.
However, it’s possible a team could take a shot on Beckham as a veteran receiver to help bolster their offense. The Dolphins tried to do that last season by pairing the veteran with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
Miami had a rough 2024 season, as it finished under .500 (8-9) for the first time under head coach Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins also missed the playoffs for the first time since McDaniel took over as the franchise’s head coach.
Hopefully, Miami will be able to get back on track in the 2025 season.
