The Cleveland Browns took a risk by trading for Jerry Jeudy last offseason and giving him a big contract extension. However, a resurfaced old clip from his first meeting with the team before the 2020 draft shows that the Browns’ coaching staff was impressed with him.
The clip shows Jeudy answering questions about routes and play concepts, and the Browns clearly loved what they heard. When asked what he needed to improve on, Jeudy admitted that he needed to get stronger and work out in the weight room more consistently.
Jeudy had a decent first season with the Browns, starting as the team’s secondary pass-catcher behind Amari Cooper. He took over as the primary receiver after Cooper was traded to the Buffalo Bills. Despite some struggles with Deshaun Watson at quarterback, Jeudy showed glimpses of being a legitimate WR1 when Jameis Winston took over.
The Browns still need to add another vertical threat in the offseason, but it seems like Jeudy can live up to the high expectations bestowed upon him as a former first-round pick.
