The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback options may have just taken a hit. According to ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is likely to return to the Rams in 2025.
Stafford, who turned 37 on Friday, believes the Rams’ leadership gives them the ability to contend every year. However, his contract situation is a bit tricky, with a non-guaranteed $23 million due in 2025.
Graziano expects the Rams to convert some of Stafford’s salary into bonuses to lower his cap hit. The Rams don’t seem concerned about Stafford leaving, despite the contract situation.
The Steelers were considered a potential suitor for Stafford, but it seems they may need to look elsewhere for their quarterback needs. The team is also considering re-signing Russell Wilson or Justin Fields in NFL free agency.
Stafford’s wife, Kelly, had recently sparked trade speculation with comments on her podcast, “The Morning After.” However, it seems the Rams are committed to keeping Stafford on board.
