Myles Garrett, the star defensive end, has made it clear that he wants to be traded from the Cleveland Browns, and now we know why. In an interview with Mike Greenberg on Sunday NFL Countdown, Garrett revealed that his desire to win is the driving force behind his request.
“I have a lot of love for Northeast Ohio and the community that brought me into the league,” Garrett said. “I wanna get to contending and winning playoff games and having a chance to be in games like today.”
Garrett’s frustration with the Browns’ lack of success is palpable. Despite his individual accolades, including four All-Pro selections and six Pro Bowl selections, the team has failed to make a deep playoff run during his eight-year tenure.
The Browns are one of four franchises that have never made it to the Super Bowl, and Garrett’s desire to win a championship is understandable. Will the Browns grant his request and trade him to a contending team? Only time will tell.
