Kentucky Wildcats point guard Lamont Butler has been upgraded to questionable for Saturday’s game against the South Carolina Gamecocks, according to the latest SEC injury report.
Butler has been sidelined for two weeks due to a shoulder injury, missing three games. However, he returned to non-contact practice this week, indicating a possible return to the court soon.
Unfortunately, Jaxson Robinson has popped up on the injury report and is also questionable due to an unknown issue. Losing Robinson would be a significant setback for Kentucky.
Backup point guard Kerr Kriisa remains out following foot surgery in December. Coach Mark Pope stated that Kriisa is still not doing anything active on the court but is doing more work in the weight room.
For South Carolina, shooting guard Myles Stute remains out indefinitely due to a blood clot in his left leg.
Kentucky’s lineup without Butler and Kriisa has struggled, especially on defense. The team’s predicted efficiency without these two players is a concern, but Butler’s potential return could boost their chances.
