Rumors have been swirling that the Cleveland Browns, along with the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans, asked quarterback prospect Shedeur Sanders not to participate in the Shrine Bowl practices. However, Browns GM Andrew Berry has come out swinging, denying these claims and setting the record straight.
“I don’t know where that report came from,” Berry said. “That’s not true. That’s not a request that we made.”
Berry’s statement puts to rest speculation that the Browns were trying to limit Sanders’ exposure or prevent him from getting injured. Instead, it seems that Sanders’ decision not to participate in the practices was his own.
Sanders, the son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, has been generating buzz as a top quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Browns, Giants, and Titans all hold top-three picks in the draft, and it’s clear that Sanders is on their radar.
Despite the rumors, Sanders did make an appearance at the Shrine Bowl, where he met with representatives from various NFL teams, including the Giants’ GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.
The Giants are reportedly high on Sanders, with Schoen praising his “great personality” and noting that his upbringing as the son of a football coach is a major plus.
As the draft approaches, it will be interesting to see how the Browns, Giants, and Titans ultimately decide to use their picks. One thing is certain, however: Shedeur Sanders will be a name to watch in the coming months.
