Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson has been selected to the Pro Bowl, but fans are saying the same thing about his bid: the Pro Bowl doesn’t mean what it used to.
Wilson took over as the Steelers’ quarterback after a 4-2 start and led the team to six wins in his first seven starts. However, the team lost its last four regular-season games and its Wild Card appearance.
Despite this, Wilson’s performance earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl, which will be his 10th appearance. He finished the season with 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions in 11 games.
However, fans are skeptical about the value of the Pro Bowl, citing its diminished status and the fact that many top players withdraw from the game. Wilson’s selection was seen as a result of Josh Allen’s withdrawal after the AFC Championship Game.
The Pro Bowl will be held in Orlando and will feature a flag football finale. Fans can tune in to the festivities on ESPN.
