A Detroit Lions fan who got a tattoo predicting the team would win the Super Bowl in 2024 has been left devastated once again. Alex Chepeska, 44, tweaked the design ahead of this season, crossing out 2024 and writing 2025 below it.
However, the Lions’ latest playoff exit has left Chepeska heartbroken. The team crashed out in the Divisional round against the Washington Commanders, extending their wait for a first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
Chepeska’s tattoo initially showed the Lions’ logo on the Vince Lombardi Trophy with ‘Champs 2024’ written underneath. Despite being told he risked jinxing the team, Chepeska remained optimistic.
In an interview last year, Chepeska said, “Look, I’ve loved the Lions my whole life… This is the brand new Lions!” However, it seems the curse of his Super Bowl ink lives on.
