The real culprit behind Ken Dorsey’s sacking as the Cleveland Browns’ offensive coordinator may not be entirely clear, but insiders suggest that it’s not just about his performance.
A Blunt Review from the Buffalo Bills
According to Jason Lloyd, the Browns reached out to the Buffalo Bills for an assessment of Dorsey, and they got a “blunt” review. Despite this, the Browns still hired him, and now it seems that general manager Andrew Berry is throwing head coach Kevin Stefanski under the bus, saying that hiring Dorsey was Stefanski’s responsibility.
Underwhelming Results in Cleveland
Dorsey’s tenure as the Browns’ OC was marked by underwhelming results, with the team ranking 32nd in points scored on offense, 28th in total offense, 29th in rushing, and 22nd in passing during the 2024 season.
A Different Story in Buffalo
However, Dorsey had previously led highly ranked offenses in Buffalo, finishing second in points and total yards in his first season as OC in 2022.
