The Houston Texans made a brutal joke at the Dallas Cowboys’ expense after the build-up to their NFL Monday Night Football clash was marred by a major stadium problem.
Just hours before the players were to take to the field in the AT&T Stadium, pieces of the roof fell onto the playing field in a dangerous safety breach. Bits of debris including a large piece of metal fell as the roof was being opened in preparation for the match.
Thankfully, no one was injured despite pieces falling near several people who were on the field at the time preparing the television broadcast. The situation was reviewed and upon discovering another metal sheet appeared loose, the Cowboys opted to close the roof for the game.
However, they probably wish they hadn’t played the game at all as Dallas fell to a fifth straight defeat. The Texans opened up a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and were able to survive the Cowboys’ promising second quarter to lead 17-10 at half-time.
Houston went on to bury the game, winning 34-10 to extend their record to 7-4 and leave the Cowboys’ struggles to continue, dropping to a 3-7 record. The Cowboys last won on the opening of October against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while the Texans ended a run of back-to-back defeats to get their form back on track.
Following the game, the visitors compounded Dallas’ night as the official social media page of the Texans posted a picture of the AT&T Stadium with two sheets of metal falling from the opening roof, adding the caption: “look out beLow,” capitalizing the ‘L’ in a further dig at the loss.
